Chanticleer Gets New Home in 2013 and Presents A CHANTICLEER CHRISTMAS

Chanticleer will have a new home in New York City at Christmas, on the Sacred Music in a Sacred Space concert series at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on Park Avenue at 84th Street. Beginning in December 2013, Sacred Music in a Sacred Space is delighted to present "A Chanticleer Christmas" annually in New York City.

Chanticleer will perform two dates in 2013, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 4 pm and Monday, December 9 at 7 pm.

Called “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker magazine and named Ensemble of the Year by Musical America in 2008, the GRAMMY® award-winning ensemble Chanticleer celebrates its 35th anniversary in the 2012-13 season during which it will perform more than 100 concerts in 29 of the United States, in Europe, and in the Asia/Pacific region. Praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for their “tonal luxuriance and crisply etched clarity,” Chanticleer – based in San Francisco – is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature from Renaissance to jazz and from gospel to venturesome new music.

“We could not be more proud to present Chanticleer, this country’s premier male chorus. Chanticleer has long been a beloved part of Christmas in New York City, and we are happy to welcome them to their new home,” said K. Scott Warren, Artistic Director of Sacred Music in a Sacred Space concerts.
