Cincinnati Arts Association Presents THE IRISH TENORS CHRISTMAS SHOW, 12/12

Cincinnati Arts Association Presents THE IRISH TENORS CHRISTMAS SHOW, 12/12

The Irish Tenors - Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns, and Karl Scully - will bring their special holiday concert to the Aronoff Center's Procter & Gamble Hall on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 8:00 PM. The Irish Tenors' holiday tribute to the season is a blend of traditional carols and classic Irish ballads. The concert is part of the Cincinnati Arts Association's 2009-10 Season of "Classic Nights Out."

Since they first joined voices in 1998, The Irish Tenors have made countless traditional songs breathe with new life and have proven themselves gifted interpreters of a wide range of material. Few vocalists are capable of the bright, ringing tones and performance skills that denote a tenor. The magic they have captured on The Irish Tenors (1999), Home for Christmas (1999), Live in Belfast (2000), Ellis Island (2001), We Three Kings (2003), and Heritage (2004) has resulted in millions of albums sold. The Irish Tenors perform to fans around the globe, and, in the United States, they are one of the most successful Irish touring acts ever, second only to the rock group U2.

The U.S. audience was first introduced to the Irish Tenors when their landmark concert at the Royal Dublin Society was broadcast on PBS. The response was electric, and in March of 1999, the group began their first American tour, drawing thousands of fans to Madison Square Garden and selling out major venues along the journey west.

The enduring nature of their appeal was made apparent when The Irish Tenors and Home for Christmas each spent more than two years in the upper reaches of Billboard's World Music and Classical charts. The Irish Tenors released Live from Belfast, followed by Ellis Island, a concept album based on the history of immigration in America that featured a moving narration by actor Martin Sheen.

By the fall of 2004, with We Three Kings and Heritage in release, The Irish Tenors were nearing household-name status, a designation cemented by appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Live With Regis and Kelly, 20/20 and A&E Breakfast With the Arts, among other popular television programs.

Tickets range in price from $35-$70 and can be purchased at www.CincinnatiArts.ORG, 513.621.ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.
