New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Opens Mozart Concerts to the Public, 11/3 & 4

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will provide complimentary tickets for this weekend's all-Mozart classical performances. Tickets will be available at the venue box office beginning two hours before each performance. The revised program includes Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3, Symphony No. 29 and Sinfonia Concertante, K. 364.

"Music has always provided solace in times of stress, and this is the Orchestra's chance to reach out to members of the New Jersey community who need to escape from life's current challenges," NJSO Interim President & CEO Susan Stucker says. "Many of our neighbors in communities statewide have been profoundly affected by the storm, and even those who haven't felt a direct impact have watched the news and seen the damage the storm has caused in New Jersey. We invite all New Jerseyans to find joy in the sublime music of Mozart as our guests at these concerts."

Performances take place on Saturday, November 3, (8 p.m.) at the State Theatre in New Brunswick and Sunday, November 4, (3 p.m.) at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark. Classical Conversations about the music on the program begin one hour before each performance. The NJSO will not be able to reserve complimentary seats in advance; seating will be done on a first-come, first-served basis as long as seats are available.

Both the State Theatre in New Brunswick and NJPAC in Newark are fully operational with electricity and heat.
