On Thursday night, the Young People's Chorus of New York City at Washington Heights (YPCWH) sang its inaugural concert at Washington Heights Academy. YPCWH is the very first community chorus established by the Young People's Chorus of New York City under its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J .Nunez. Scroll below for photos from the group's first concert!

The auditorium at Washington Heights Academy (P.S. 366) was packed with parents and well-wishers in this very festive debut of the YPCWH choristers. Of course, Francisco J. Nunez, the artistic director/founder was listening right in front, filled with pride at these new young YPC members.

New York State Senator Adriano Espaillat was present to see these children led by their conductor Johnny Rabe, a conducting fellow of YPC. In addressing the crowd, Senator Espaillat told the audience he was a chorus member back home, and so he knows the importance of music and the arts for all families.
