The Pepperdine University Fine Arts Division announces several music, opera, and theatre performances, listed below, during the months of February through April 2013.

Tickets (other than those that are discounted or free) are also available through Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787. Free tickets to choir and orchestra concerts are available for Pepperdine students, faculty, and staff with ID.

A Mary Pickford silent film featuring Maria Newman's original score performed live by Pepperdine's Collegium Musicum in collaboration with Malibu Friends of Music. Scott Hosfeld, conductor; Maria Newman, violin.

The Elixir of Love (L'elisir d'amore)

With the Pepperdine University Orchestra
This comic story about a love-struck youth who procures a "magic" potion to gain the affection of a young woman is transported to pre-World War II California citrus country in this reimagining of Gaetano Donizetti's classic opera. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.

Guest Artist Recital
Paul Barnes has electrified audiences with his intensely expressive playing and cutting-edge programming. For his return to Pepperdine's Raitt Recital Hall, he presents a program of world premieres he has given since 2007, including the winning composition of the American Liszt Society Bicentennial Composition Competition and N. Lincoln Hanks' masterwork Monstre sacré, a composition commissioned by Barnes.
