Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) is heading to south-of-the-border and other tropical locales this holiday season with Baby, It's Cold Outside. With their unique blend of song, dance and campy comedy, Seattle Men's Chorus has carved its niche as Seattle's OTHER holiday tradition. This year they will add some heat to traditional holiday tunes in eight sizzling Seattle concerts, plus two out-of-town concerts in Tacoma and Everett.
For the first two performances of their 33rd season opener, SMC welcomes stage and TV star Ana Gasteyer (tonight, Nov.30 & Dec. 1 only) as the guest artist.
For this 2012 holiday concert, the men will pull out their warm-weather gear and entertain with songs that include fresh takes on "Una Navidad en Rio," "Warm December," and "Moonlight on the Sand," as well as holiday favorites, "Jingle Bell Rock," "I'll Be Home For Christmas," and "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm." Celebrated local drag chanteuse Arnaldo will join the men for the title song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and the Chorus will, of course, take advantage of the Watjen Concert Organ to dazzle with breathtaking choral pieces like "Gloria" and "Silent Night."
This year, SMC is also proud to partner with Lifelong AIDS Alliance for a Holiday Food Drive during the Seattle concerts at Benaroya Hall. All non-perishable goods will be accepted and will be used in Lifelong AIDS Alliance's food program, Chicken Soup Brigade.
Tickets to Seattle performances are $27-$77. Tickets to the Everett performance are $22-$42. Both Seattle and Everett concert tickets are available at www.SeattleMensChorus.org or over the phone at (206) 388-1400. The Seattle area box office is open Monday through Friday Noon-7:00pm. Tacoma concert tickets are $42-$58 and available at www.tickets.broadwaycenter.org.
